The Accessibility Policy states our commitment to providing a welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment for employees, visitors and customers who may be living with a disability.

Our policy

Purpose

The Accessibility Policy states the Victorian Convention and Event Trust’s (VCET) commitment to providing a welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment for employees, visitors and customers who may be living with disability.

The Policy outlines VCET’s adoption of a social model of disability.

Application

This policy applies to all matters concerning the lived-experience of disability of employees, customers and visitors to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) and Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre (Nyaal Banyul).

The Policy highlights the responsibility of the Trust, Leadership Team, and all VCET employees to foster a culture for accessibility outcomes.

VCET has established an Accessibility Advisory Committee, an independent body with the responsibility to hold the organisation to account on its commitments and provide lived-experience advice.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we operate our venues in Narrm and Djilang; the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Wadawurrung peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and seek to honour the long-standing tradition of building community and exchanging ideas on these lands. We extend that respect to the broader Kulin Nations and the Traditional Owners of all First Nations communities across Victoria and Australia.
